Are you winking at me?

An influential cleric in Saudi Arabia (Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan) is insisting that women should fully cover their face with a one-eyed veil, because the traditional two-eyed veil is far too seductive, especially if women use eye make-up. In other words, though allah gave us all two eyes, even so half the people on the planet should be restricted to just the one eye… I mean, surely one eye is more than enough, and what do they need depth perception for anyway, eh? But seriously, the obvious solution is to surgical remove an eye, or just poke it out. Such a procedure could easily be done when females are young and in no position to fight back or run away. In fact, they could have it plucked or poked when they go in for their genital mutilation.
